Khalifa University announced three initiatives – the Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Systems Institute which is the first AI Institute in UAE, a Program in Artificial Intelligence for undergraduate, graduate and PhD, and the second round of Mohamed Bin Zayed International Robotics Challenge 2020 to further advance innovation in robotics and artificial intelligence.

Ernesto Damiani has been appointed Senior Director of the AI Institute, whose aim is to bring all the university’s research activities in next generation digital technologies under a single umbrella with a funding outlay of AED160 million for AI projects.
