Prof. Ernesto Damiani is full professor at Università degli Studi di Milano, where he leads the SESAR Lab, Director of the Centre on Cyber-Physical Systems and of the Information Security Research Center at the Khalifa University in Abu Dhabi, and the leader of the Big Data area at Etisalat British Telecom Innovation Center. He has done extensive research on design and deployment of secure systems and protocols. Ernesto Damiani’s work has more than 13000 citations on Google Scholar and more than 6000 citations on Scopus. His areas of interest include Big Data Analytics, Edge/Cloud security and performance, and cyber-physical systems. Ernesto has published several books and about 450 papers and international patents. He is currently the PI of TOREADOR (ICT-16 Big Data) and has been the PI of the ASSERT4SOA FP7 project on the certification of SOA. He leads/has led the activities of SESAR within the SecureSCM (FP7-STREP), ASSERT4SOA (FP7-STREP), ARISTOTELE (FP7-IP), CUMULUS (FP7-STREP), PRACTICE (FP7-IP), EVOTION (H2020-RIA), TOREADOR (H2020-RIA), and THREAT-ARREST (H2020-IA) projects. Ernesto has been a recipient of the Stephen Yau Award from the Service Society, of the Oustanding contributions Award from IFIP TC2 , of the Chester-Sall Award from IEEE IES and of a doctorate honoris causa from INSA –Lyon (France) for his contribution to Big Data teaching and research.
